Hi,
i'm new to this forum and thought i'd show off one of my early attempts at a recarded Crimson Guard. With the release of the Crimson Guard blister available i'm suprised no-one else has done this but here goes. The blister also works for several other figures too. I'll be showing off more in the future, Enjoy. |

I don't know how he does it, but there are a few ways it can be done.
1.) Put the entire card in a freezer 10 degrees or below. The bubble comes off pretty easy without (or very minimal) tearing of the card. 2.) Heat: A hairdryer or heat gun applying heat from the back side of the card. The card will heat up and loosen the bubble. This method is tricky and you risk damaging the card or warping the bubble. I have also seen it done with a soldering iron that has a flat piece (used to burn designs in wood) used on the bubble where it attaches to the card to loosen the glue. Again this is very risky. 3.) Acetone can be applied to the back side of the card mirroring where the bubble attaches to the card. A Q-tip is used to apply the acetone and allow it to absorb through the card until it reaches the glued edges of the bubble. This method doesn't work as well on cards that have glossy printed backs like Joes. It works best on cards with raw backs like Hot Wheels or cheap figures. The acetone dries (evaporates) so quickly that it minimizes most bubbling that you normally get when applying a liquid to card board. I am not telling you to try any of these methods. I am just letting you know of things that I have done or seen people do. We use to paint Hot Wheels up like our friends' cars and reseal them. We would add some sort of special edition sticker with their name on it and they would hang it from the mirror of their car. Please don't blame me if you burn up your figures or something trying this stuff and don't try to rip anyone off by saying it is a variant or error.
