I did not have alot of time to scroll through everyone's comments, sorry. First, great job this is one of the best kit bash / retool / repaint I have seen in a while. Hats off to you. My question was what brand of paint did you use on this project, and did you treat or prep the body armor before it went to paint? Finding it difficult to find a paint that will really take to the vests, body armors for the figures. Any advice would be awsome!

My paints, in generally are about 90% Citadel Colour, with a few Ral Parthas (for flat greens and browns). Then I use Tamiya and Testors Modle Masters Acrylics for glosses. I mix my own washes as well using a 2 part distilled water to 1 part paint ratio. I use distilled water to make sure there are no minerals or anything to show up in the paint when dry. I bought a gallon and have been using it forever since I only use a few drops at a time. I also thin my paints slightly with a few drops of distilled to make them go on more evenly and make sure there are no brushstrokes, so I am constantly checking my paints and adding a drop or two here and there to them to make sure they do not thicken up. I have had the same problem with the vests and I just do something simple. I just a use a somewhat broad brush like I use for base coating and load it. I then apply one area in a light black and forth stroke, never really stopping. The paint begins to dry and as it does it starts to become more tacky. If you keep lightly brushing, it will stick and coat evenly. Once I have does the whole surface, I go over and do another light basecoat to even anything out. I usually use a grey, since it is pretty neutral, covers well and makes a good base for another color. This technique has worked very, very well for me and sticks well without peeling and such. Then with all my figures, I seal the parts with a light coat Krylon Satin Clear Coat when does as a extra layer of protection. I have painted many, many vests, flack vests, harnesses and other plastic parts that did not want to take paint well like this and it works great.
