The HissTank staff is hard at work making a custom index but we need your help. Below are some guidelines as to the best way of posting a custom.
Title Please make your custom title the name of the custom and your name. Example http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...echo7solo.html Tags Please tag your custom with the proper name. Example, if you make a custom of Doc please use Doc as your tag example http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...echo7solo.html also please take the time to title the pictures of your customs. More often than not pictures are given random numerical names but if you take the time to name your pictures based on the custom it will simplify the search among most engines. Example: instead of a picture being named "46405.jpg" take the time to change it to "Custom Resolute Snake Eyes Battle Damaged 01.jpg" Number of customs per thread We would prefer that you make one custom per thread. This way it can be filed properly into the site index. If you would like to put more than one custom into a thread please separate them by posts. Here is an example of how to put more than one custom per thread. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post1327375 Recipes One of the most frequently asked questions is "what did you use" Please post the parts used and how the custom was created. This is completely optional however would be thoughtful. Links to customs.: We would prefer it if you load all of the images of your custom(s) in a free image hosting site such as photobucket. By doing so, it is easier for you to link images into your posts, and for other members to see your work. |

Ok I'd like to start off by saying the reason I used my custom as an example is becaue it is the way I was talking about. Yes there are other customs out there that are named like that but hey, I was being lazy and went with the first one I knew for sure was named the way I was talking about. LOL... so feel free to throw rocks at me.
anywho.... this thread is staying open so people can give imput into the custom index and so we can share with you a little of what has been done so far. Feel free to ask questions about it here. |

LOL - I have one thread where I post all of my customs. I don't have a problem with re-posting them all as individual threads (copy & paste). I'll get started...

question, a lot of my customs I.ve deleted the images so I have space to upload newer pics, once they are "indexed" can I still delete the older pics and will they remain in the index if i delete them from the thread?

Will there be a custom tab added under the Hisstank banner, or will there be an index listed under the forums page? Also, I'd advise separating figures, vehicles and dioramas/playsets, sort of the same way joecustoms.com does.
I'm glad to see this is finally going to happen - there have been so many awesome customs on here over the years.

ok i already see a few problems with this.
1)flooding will be even a bigger thing now .as we have way to many members for this kind of thing. 2) your going to have joes and none joe customs in the same section. no offense to you echo i know you put alot of work in to this but there is a better way to do this. check these sites to see how it is done JoeCustoms.com > Home Transformer World 2005 http://forums.fighting118th.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8 joe customs have a archive where all members can post there work and search by name of custom or user while having a spot to post your work. Tf has is pretty good with dif sections but could expand on it with non Tf customs and TF customs 1 18th has it dead on to what will work alot better. make 3 sections for customs 1) for joe 2) for none customs.3) for custom rides. so i think id we did it like 1 18th alot of ppl would be happy. these are just ideas. How'd I know xhairs would be in the top 5 posts?
So I guess I've been pretty much doing it this way all along... What about random fodder assemblies or "tweaks" threads where the changes are minimal, or not important enough to be their own standalone custom? Like this: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...bc-vipers.html or http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...th-tweaks.html Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 05-22-2010 at 02:28 PM.. |
