well you have to deal with it rex as from how it sounds all customs no matter how small a change will need its own topic.

ok i already see a few problems with this.
1)flooding will be even a bigger thing now .as we have way to many members for this kind of thing. 2) your going to have joes and none joe customs in the same section. no offense to you echo i know you put alot of work in to this but there is a better way to do this. check these sites to see how it is done JoeCustoms.com > Home Transformer World 2005 Customs & Dioramas - The Fighting 1:18th's Forum joe customs have a archive where all members can post there work and search by name of custom or user while having a spot to post your work. Tf has is pretty good with dif sections but could expand on it with non Tf customs and TF customs 1 18th has it dead on to what will work alot better. make 3 sections for customs 1) for joe 2) for none customs.3) for custom rides. so i think id we did it like 1 18th alot of ppl would be happy. these are just ideas. well x once again I say the same thing. Your opinion is short sighted and quite frankly selfish. What your saying will work on a smaller site where you have about a dozen members viewing each day. When you have a site this big there needs to be a way to view ALL the customs made not just what was made today. Regardless I thank you for your opinion..... lets move forward. |

How'd I know xhairs would be in the top 5 posts?
So I guess I've been pretty much doing it this way all along... What about random fodder assemblies or "tweaks" threads where the changes are minimal, or not important enough to be their own standalone custom? Like this: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...bc-vipers.html or http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...th-tweaks.html Mandingo, you for one I know have used the work of other members to make yours better. Be it borrowing the idea for your airtight from GI Eddie to other things. With an index you will be able to locate figures better than you can via the search. Also if people would title their thread the right way it will help out. Again several staff members have spent hours working on this and still have quite a way to go with it. Remember we do have lives outside of this site so this is a labor of love. |

Hey, I have just a couple comments.
Now when people post a ton of customs at once with their own thread it buries threads by other people who may only have 1 or 2 customs. Also, since the "new posts" button has been limited to 50 posts in a search with no explanation, they search comes with a majority being customs. Is there a way to return the search to the old way or to have it not include certain forums in my options? I don't want 35 of 50 threads being all customs. |

A separate area to discuss customs would be great. So the finished work doesn't get all tangled in with the unfinished stuff. Also, it's nice to have separate discussion threads on painting, disassembly, casting, etc instead of the one giant thread now. I assume that would be part of the discussion forum, huh?
I totally get how this is a clusterfuck that is a pain to sort due to the sheer number of users and customs. It's good to see you're a bit closer to wrapping it up. Besides the news, the custom forums here are the best part of the site. And yeah, making an index so people can use it as a reference gallery is more important to me than just to showcase one's work. If it wasn't for all the other ideas shared on here, I would never have started customizing to begin with. |

I'm new here so my comments mean little presently, but couldn't you expand on them as such like some other customs sites:
Heavy/Scratch Minor/Repaint WIPs Non-Joe or: Figures Vehicles WIPs Non-Joe Etc, etc. Just my $0.02! |

I think I already do my custom threads like this, so I'm okay with it. What I think would work pretty well is more sub-categories. Figure showcases, vehicles, dios, contests, tutorials, general questions and wips. That would also free up a lot of thread space in the main figure customs section with stickies going to their appropriate category.
