I think the chest gear is a good coverup for the text. Waterslide decals seem to be the only option I can easily think of, as well.
They're the decals that come with model cars, more or less. You can get them done custom, but I'm currently looking into how. You'd have to print them elsewhere though, because you need white type on a dark background (same situation I'm running into with my Lifeline custom) and unless you can print white at home, it'll be cheaper elsewhere I'd imagine. (They do make printers that print white ink.) I think the Serpentor head works great (and I hate that head for Serpentor), but I didn't realize how awesome the original figure's head sculpt was too. It's one of the best from the vintage line I've seen! I never had Salvo as a kid, but he's on my list of potential post-88 Joes to make in 25th style, and one of the ones I'd really like to see done if they pick back up on the 25th remakes. My only critique (besides agreeing that the waterslide decals would perfect him) is the hands are smaller than the arms, so you get forearm showing over the gloves. I guess this was to go with the more correct-to-vintage hands? |

no dont change out the hands...scrap the whole figure and mail him to me...i will try and deal with his lil hands/big forearms...;) great job man...like you i have resisted putting figs under the knife and painting...but i'm flirting with swapping parts...perhaps at some point i'll just dive in and go for it...mmm or not...i know what's down that road...i see what can happen...so many people here have fallen victim to that which is to customize...no one survives...i dont fear it for me...but i've got kids man...and a wife...getting into that...i dunno man...i mean it isn't like they have therapy for this...you can't make it back you know...customizing figures is the "gateway" to custom vehicles..which leads to dioramas...which can lead to casting/molding....you've heard of the "green stuff" yeah exactly that stuff can kill you man rob you of life and outside contact...
