They are foreign to this time...
They wish the eradication of mutantkind... They are nearly one in the same... And they have a plan. Here are my latest customs, the mutant hunting/hating sentinels, Bastion and Nimrod! As the Second Coming draws ever closer, I was inspired to tackle it's main villain. I had already planned on Nimrod from the moment I picked up the deep dive armor Iron Man, but I couldn't resist taking on the big bad Bastion as well. I thought the Iron Man design was a fantastic translation for Nimrod. It was large, imposing, and futuristic and most importantly to me, it seemed real. As much as I liked Nimrod, I kind of hated his original design and liked the updated version in New X-Men more. The Iron Man figure really gave me that same kind of vibe - sleek and futuristic without being a big pink crystal. I also didn't want him to be so pink and wanted to give him a weathered look, so I gave him a dirty dry brush coating in white and then a very light brownish/redish wash. For Bastion I wanted to capture the look of the new Bastion from X-Force. This version seemed more organic but still very robotic and wiry. I decided on MU black Spiderman but I didn't want him to be too tall and too lanky, I used Guardian's legs to both beef him up a little and make him shorted. I also wanted him to have that 'just put together' look (recently in the comics his head was attached to a recovered and damaged Nimrod body), so I didn't want his pink collar to have such clean lines so I went with a dry brush effect to give the idea of the lines, but to keep it blurred. Recipes: Nimrod Entirely deep sea armor Iron Man Bastion head - SW Comic Pack Admiral Thrawn with sculpted goatee torso, arms - MU Black Spiderman with sculpted details legs - MU Guardian Thanks for looking!
