I've just joined this forum, but I have to admit to slinking about in the background gathering knowledge and skills for my diorama project over the last couple of months. I am building it using PTE figures because they have the right look for my purpose. That being uniform colour schemes. I wanted to have two distinguishable armies, and PTE offered me that, whereas Gi-Joe, apart from being far too expensive to buy in that sort of quantity are too varied in their design and colour for my purposes, so please don’t hate me for using the “poor mans Joe figures”. I apologise about the quality of the pics, not sure if it's the camera or the operator at fault there... The brown paint, particularly obvious on the roof of the bigger structure looks perfectly normal and all one tone when viewed in person, I don't know why the paint looks so bad in the images. Anyway, A picture tells a thousand words. Tell me what you think… Last edited by Exciter; 10-18-2010 at 04:34 AM.. |

wow man, this thing is amazing. My husband and I are drooling over it. He and I both wanna make something like this and you may have just given us the motivation to do so! The firing range is sweet, the hooch with a rolled up sleeping bag and fire is so cool looking! And I'm guessing you made that building that has all the guns and radios/walkie talkies and what not? I really like this!

Looks good. I have a ton of those figures, weapons and accessories I don't need or use. I'll send a PM. Great job on this.

Thanks so much for the positive responses.
I'm glad you all like what I've done so far. I'm thinking about extending widthways with a river and a tank battle. The Bathroom was built as a joke but turned into the beginnings of a command centre. I'm thinking of adding a dorm, comms room and possibly a garage or rec room. I did make the building. And the table, bench, tool shelf and gun rack. I also painted the tools and lots of the other accessories as they were yucky green or plain black and I wanted more realistic colouring. Also note the "map" on the wall inside this building. It is a google map screen cap of the Amazon. The tent and campfire are PTE items, as are most of the weapons and accessories. The weapons on the rifle rack and the motorbikes are Lanard Corps figure items, and the tools and some other accessories belong to various Chinese toy soldier sets from cheap toy shops and supermarkets. Also the tower on the other side is home made. I do have one of the PTE towers, but thought I could do a better job myself. I ran out of the lengths of small sand bags, so am waiting on more from the US. Also there are some plastic parts in the shots that will either be painted or removed. I'll continue to add pics as it develops. It might get much bigger than I anticipated, but I have plenty of space in the garage, so I'll let it grow until it fills the room if it must! A couple of other pics have been added below. One that shows the inside of the main building before I painted the tools, it gives a better look at the gun rack, which I think looks very cool. The other pic is one of my paint stations, with the aforementioned PTE tower. I think I will paint this or cover it with foliage and add it to my tank scene if I get that far. - Ian |

Sweet! I must have that Black Hawk : )
This now explains why the World Peacekeepers figures we get in the UK come with Power Team flags. They must be the same thing I guess? Fingers crossed in a couple of weeks I'll be getting the World Peacekeepers 1/18 A-10.
