My version of Cobra de Aco

After seeing some of the great versions of this figure here, and FINALLY finding a Flash, here is my take on Cobra de Aco. I did not want to re-create the original figure, but I did want to re-create the character so, I deviated from the original in a few places. I went with the assumption that his silver parts will be metal not silver fabric etc. Because of this I painted his gloves to look like leather re-enforced with steel rather than paint them solid like the original. The paint color I choose is also darker than the bright silver Hasbro used. I want to convey steel not silver. Flash's legs do not look like boots as the original did, so I used Crimson Guard lower legs, again painted as leather boots with steel greaves. I painted his head to look like a steel helmet / face mask, with goggles over it, rather than solid silver once again. And, lastly I removed the Hasbro symbol from his belt buckle, it just looked a bit too "happy" for me. Now I just need to get my Cobra decals working and he's all set. Overall a pretty easy guy to make, but a very nice addition to the Cobra army.

I do not know who this is but who-ever he isn't, he is bad-ass. I really like the paint scheme. Makes him looks quarintined.

i really like this one and it stands out from some of the others because of boot selection and the silver paint you used that has a blue tint to it. great

Great combo of parts & paint apps !
Turned out really well, I'm relieved it's not the same as the one I'm finishing tonight...*whew!*...seems there's at least 3 of us doing a "my take" Cobra de Aco.

Yes, it seems like a lot of people are making this guy. I wasn't even going to post him, but i thought what the hell. The silver parts are Games Workshop "Bolt Metal".
