At first I thought...Gung-Ho Custom???? But that is awesome. I'm defintely going to swap the arms on mine. I did something similar to my Flint (link below) though it was just the hands. That is a damn good custom.

Great gung-ho. I wish they would have kept his corp. symbol through out his figure line and kept it the same size.. through the years it kept getting smaller and smaller till it was just gone.
Water transfers are nice. Just wish I could get my printer to work properly all the time instead of when it wants. I would make one up as well. Although after seeing this a full repaint may be in order.

Thanks again guys for all the great comments, and thanks for looking.
I actually just started out redoing the tattoo a bit darker when I first got him. I think , especially when I was younger, that it was one of the major reasons I liked him. I agree about the eyes, I still haven't gotten the hang of it yet, and will redo them down the road. The color I used was Tamiya light blue(i think). I may need some backup on this, but as far as the original colors, I used to think it was a little off. but after seeing some of the old salty marines on base wearing utilities (which seemed older than me), it seemed they were going for a very faded look, which really was close to the color Gung-Ho, and Starduster were portrayed in. It made a little more sense to me after that. If I get my hands on another Gung-Ho, I want to put him in a red PT shirt with a gold eagle globe and anchor on it, almost like the Gunny Highway in Heartbreak Ridge Thanks again for the awesome feedback! |

AWESOME work man!
that's the cajun jar head we all know! i think i might pick up a bottle of tamiya light blue next time i'm out. what color did you use for the camo? looks like grey? also what color did you use for the skin? mine always turns out way too glossy. (could be i'm just applying too thick) love your drybrushing on the boots too. man i gotta do this to my GH! oh, can i make a suggestion? paint the tips of his 40mm gold. makes them look more realistic, like HE rounds. i know waterslide decal sheets arent cheap, but how do you feel aobut printing out one sheet and sending a few singles out to some of us? group buy? a few bucks each should cover it, no? what do you think? looking foward to PT Gung-Ho! let's hear some cadence! SEMPER FI!
