first of all, thanks for all your help and inspiration guys...
based on ideas i used from the "show off your____custom" threads i threw these guys together...like the title says, nothing ground breaking...so instead of giving each figure its own thread, (because lets face it, we've seen these done a lot) i put them all in one... i tried as much as possible to make them paint free, especially at the joints...so i had to get a little creative on occation...like with Airtight... for Airtight i used a Blowtorch as a base...and since he is molded of the yellow plastic, i was able to Dremel off his orange/red pads..NO YELLOW PAINT!!!...one of the most awful colors to get good coverage...i also used the yellow pockets off of the new RoC Doc which are almost exactly the same color...i then cut off the lower legs and cut and pegged on some Gung-Ho boots...i did the same thing for the gloves, but i used Flash gloves/hands... in some instances i took some creative liberties so that i could get some good parts combos...like with Lowlight and Leatherneck...their jackets have everything reversed left to right...it just worked better...and Dial-Tone has no silver wrist decor cause i don't like it... Gung-Ho is just a kitbash of the first relaese and the comic pack release to cure his zombieitis...i cut both at the torso and swapped crothes...then i used a different arm combo to get a more OG look and more beef... Footloose..ehh, not sure about the head..i mean i like it, but it doesn't accomadate a helmet...hair is too big...which is why the skin tones don't match yet...but he was fun to get the parts right to avoid painting... FOOTLOOSE -Biggs head (from Star Wars) -tunnel rat upper lower torso, arms -w9 hawk upper legs (2 lefts) hands -flint lower legs -Falcon harness modded with knife -shirt skirt is from some random 1:18 figure AIRTIGHT -Scrap Iron head with wetsuit mask and hoses from Blowtorchs flamethrower modded to back -Blowtorch torso(pockets Dremeled off), arms (shortened), legs(shortened) with orange pads Dremeled off -Flash hands/gloves pegged on -Gung-Ho boots/feet pegged on -RoC Doc pockets on legs -chest piece from a Star Wars figure...trimmed to fit more flush -belt from Tunnel Rat -accessories from OG figure DIAL-TONE -RoC Hawk head with Mighty Putty stache -Mutt torso -Airborn arms -Beachead hands -Tunnel Rat upper legs -RoC Scrap Iron lower legs (from Snake Traxx) -waist belt from HISS Driver, webgear is Duke/Trooper combo with added pocket, phone, grenades -accessories from OG figure LOWLIGHT -comic pack Hawk head with beenie from random 1:18 figure, goggles from comic pack Firefly -Strato-Viper troso/arms -Roadblock vest with added grenades from Viper backpack -5 pack SE legs LEATHERNECK -Cutter head, comic pack Gung-Ho hat -VvV 25th Duke torso and vest with Buzzer grenades added -Stalker upper arms and upper legs -Falcon lower arms with non-slit wrist skin added -Flash lower legs -Trooper(?) feet Last edited by G.I.Eddie; 02-23-2010 at 05:39 PM.. |

Nothing ground breaking? Those look tight, man! So what if they've been done before, yours have some newness to them that make them unique, and quite cool if I do say so... Keep up the great work!

Knowing how to kitbash really helps the customizer in the long run. You're able to do a custom with minimal to no paint. It helped me with my Megatron custom.
But the downside is that it's expensive. I've bought more in fodder than I have my actual collection. |
