This is my tribute to Larry Hama. I had an extra ROC Storm Shadow head and legs and wanted to make something with them. While looking online, I found a photo of Larry Hama when he was younger. I was amazed how close the ROC SS head was to Larry's. I knew what the figure would be, The Legend himself, Larry Hama. I used a ROC General Hawk for the t-shirt torso. I custom created the card back and file card and glued it to an old Beachhead card. I shrank down some comic book cover art; fans of Larry Hama should recognize the titles. The weapons and accessories are to pay tribute to everything about Larry Hama. I'll begin with the bow. When Larry Hama was younger, he studied several different martial arts, one being Japanese archery called Kyudo. The bow is as long or even longer than the archer and has a slight recurve shape. Next is the black gi belt. Larry also studied Judo, I do not know what level he made it to, but the black belt is two belts below grand master level. The sword signifies his training in Laido or Japanese martial art of swordsmanship. When Larry Hama served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Vietnam War, he became a firearms expert and explosive ordinance expert. The M16 and 9mm Berretta are to signify his firearms expertise. The guitar is made from balsa wood cut to shape and a picture of a Les Paul custom guitar; this was done to tribute Larry Hama being a musician. If you read the file card, fans of Larry Hama will notice hidden Easter eggs referencing his life. Can anyone figure out the origin of his code name "Lord of the South?" (I gave him this code name but there is a reason for it). If anyone has contact with Mr. Hama, please forward these images to him. Enjoy!

When I came to the Tank my knowledge on Gi Joe was limited to childhood memories. When I first came to the name Larry Hama I was like, who is he? I read alot of post about him and read what I could on him on the net. I found he is Gi Joe. Your homage to Mr Hama is spot on and awsome beyond compare. Great work.

That is sick. I love the little Nth Man comic
I would give this to Larry if you see him at the convention. Letting people know that you appreciate their work is a good deed.

Do you have the link? I would like to see his custom. I always like to see how other customizers envision their creations.
