Here's a recent custom I did as an homage to the 60s era Green Beret set, pictured here.
The flash really shows what a lousy job I did covering the brighter green of the base figure with olive drab, but in "normal" light you can't notice at all; the thin coating gives the OD a dusty/washed look to the fatigues that I'm pretty happy with. Rather than a field radio, this Joe has a walkie-talkie on his belt, which is probably not quite Vietnam-era, but like I said, it's an homage, not a replica. Recipe: Head: WM Hawk Lower arms, hands: WM Hawk Sidearm: Steeler (from vehicle 2-pack) Torso, legs, upper arms: TRU Attack on the Pit commando Bazooka+shells: Marauder Last edited by Recoil84; 07-17-2011 at 05:07 PM.. |

Exactly what I was thinking. I dig all olive drab and this made me immediately think of the mail away G.I. Joe from the early 90s or whenever that was. Nice job! |

Dude, you're killing me.
Great homages! The peek of classic Action Marine camo on the shirt, and the bazooka is pure 60s Joe camo also. The figure itself is an excellent basic outfit with nice details, its too cool. |
