My wife, bless her, tried to get me something I'd never
get for myself ordinarily -- the RoC Pit.

Now, she knows I love to customize, so it wasn't a big
deal (luckily) for her to see me chopping this thing up
even before stickers were applied. After brainstorming
for a few nights (Dec 25-28) I finally came up with a plan
and got to work with some scrap wood in my garage.

Overall I'm very pleased with the result... the "desk"
took me only about a day to build using scrap wood and
mostly paint I already had (+$5 in mistinted paint I got
from an ACE hardware bargain bin--that's the light base
coat). Fits perfect in that space you see in the photos.

Then the Walmart clearance sales helped a ton... helped
me add some watchtowers that is! Thought about adding
two LAWs but the Outpost defender works too, just different.

I fixed the bowlegged cross eyed Hawk that came
with the Pit too... (hot water and some new paint)


Here's more design notes (copied from another thread):
This is still a bit of a WIP...
> the wooden "table" below was built from scrap wood

personnel access.

From the RoC Pit
> removed the second level (using for something else later)
> added a conference/briefing room with the HD TV

> added a shooting range (my red beret Flint's doing some
practice)
> added a ninja practice area (still waiiting for Walmart
ninja battles to go on clearance so I can properly finish)
> added the two small battlestations as lookout "towers"
> added two cannons to the front to act as the big guns
> the whole "top" is non-mobile now; I haven't removed the
wheels... yet
