This is pretty simple, and I'm sure I'm not the first one to figure this out, but I like giving tips and such to anyone out there who might find them useful, so here goes.
As some of you have noticed I'm sure, many of the Rise of Cobra figures have belts that aren't attached with pegs that you can easily clasp/unclasp. yet sometimes you may think one belt would look better on another figure...so how do you remove the belt without having to cut it? Simple. Unscrew the legs. The screws on the legs are really the only thing holding the two halves of the legs together. There's no glue or anything. If you unscrew them you can easily and safely remove the legs of the figure, slip the belt off, and put the legs back on with no damage done to the figure or belt. This method also works for switching out legs for your Joes. Use the same method, and it's a hell of a lot easier than trying to boil and pop the legs off. |

I thought this thread was asking how to, and I was going to suggest unscrewing the legs.
That's also how you get Airborne/Rollbars/Hit & Runs/Infiltrator Dukes/Fireflys harness off.

Good idea, and probably isn't obvious to a lot of people who don't dismantle Joes as a hobby.

Thanks for the tip - sometimes (most times) the most simple solution is the easy one. This was so easy that it has eluded me.

Does anyone know how to get Helix's belt off without breaking it?

I took the legs off as above, and then boiled the fig to soften the rubber of the belt and forced it off over the waiste. I was going to mention this as Helix was the first one to pop into my mind when I read this as being one that a simple leg removal wouldnt work. What can I say......girl's got a big butt.
