I hope two new customs in one day isn't sensory overload. This is one of the customs I knew I wanted to do as soon as the Range Viper hit. Hands down one of the best mod era vipers I've seen. Parts changed a few times over the course of planning and mixing the proper paint colors was crucial as I didn't want the metallic mess that Hasbro had given us at one point. I also didn't want to go too wild with him as seen in DDP WW3. He's not that crazy...yet.
Parts Used: Head, Mask, Torso and Shoulders: Range Viper Lower Arms: Dr. Lewis Legs: CS SE Uppers and Knees, Res Duke lowers and feet Pack: Elite Viper? Rifle: RoC TRU FireFly Hood: PoC Zartan What I hope wasn't against my best judgement, no sealer was used on this one to allow the flat aircraft black and gloss black to really contrast against one another. Custom mix violet. Semi gloss aircraft grey and some gunship grey washes. Concept Art

: ) Just trying to cram in the last few for the year. One, maybe two more next week. If not, I ended on a high note.

Yar, love that Aircraft Interior Black, it makes everything look worn and rugged.
And great purple, I love purple. Why do I feel life a doofus typing that out? lol |

What's wrong with purple? Nothing, that's what. It took me 2 or 3 mixes to actually get the purple I wanted. I mixed one out of British Crimson and Israeli Camo Blue and it sat for so long it went brown. Cut it with more Insignia Red to lightening it a bit instead of leaning to blue. You can see a darker shade on the rear seam of the spats/boot covers and then I had to lighten it a bit more from there. Pain in the @$$.
The aircraft black was all you though Dr. N. I was at the store, picked it up and said "yeah Dr. Nightmare says it's even flatter than flat black." I love it!

Fantastic! Proving yet again why you're one of my favorite customizers. I recently did the same part swap with the legs, very cool.
Me too! That's all I use for black. Highlight it with Euro I Gray and it really pops too. |
