Yeah dude defiantly hit it up with some matte coat. The gloss looks like someone rubbed Vaseline all over the tank
Besides that, it looks sweet.

I have some testors dull coat, I have never used it before, that i am going to hit it with after i get all my decals on. I have begun expimenting with the testors decal paper as well so I jsut need to decid on if I am going to use the number from the C.A.T. decal sheet from cobrastickers, or print my own. Ever used a dull coat over peal and stick stickers?

The original idea was to do like a parade tank but the finish didn't come out as smooth as I would have liked. Also it really isn't THAT shiney but the flash really brings out the paint surface imperfections. i normally work with matte finishes on 1:32 scale stuff and I had never encountered this problem.

Looks great! The Dulcote should work. It might even blend in the seams from your stickers.
I noticed in your pics that you disassembled the wheels on the Lanard Toys truck from Walmart. What did you do to remove them? Taking mine off is like wrestling with a grizzly bear.

Looks great! Not big into collecting vehicles, but that one looks awesome! Love that Abrams in there too. You paint that or is it stock?

That Bravo Team Abrams is stock. I mean it alread y had the markins and the detail wash. It needed nothing right out the box. And that was the delima. I had bought the PTE tank with the plan to detail and desertize it but then a few months later I found the Bravo Team one at Target and it came already detailed and painted and at a more accurate scale. There was little point in desertising the PTE with that monster on the shelf beside it so I decided to make a custom with the size descrepancy being explained as the Cobra tank being actually a smaller tank that is based on the Abrams design.

Good question. At my local Family Dollar they have a "Skil" mini screwdriver set that was on clearance for $3. It should be still on the shelves, but in it there are about 3 sizes of Phillips and flat head screw drivers, an awl ( these are great for heating making holes looks like an ice pick which is what I normally use when the dremel won't do), and a tool called a "nail puller". looks like a mini crow bar. Braced against the under carriage I used it to pry the wheel back from the axel enough to "screw" the wheel off. It does creat some slight stress marks underneath and scratches on the wheel but no one can see them anyway esp if you paint underneath anyways...
P.S. Found an example of one on ebay. SKIL Soft Grip 8 Blade Quick Change Screwdriver Set NIP - eBay (item 390120007282 end time Dec-17-09 14:58:46 PST)
