I'm trying to get as close as possible, but if there are hold-out parts, I'm cool w. a 90% original Flagg and some customization. PM me in late Jan / early Feb with your parts list, you're welcome to whatever leftover parts I have from the Flagg / Custom USS Keel-Haul project I'm working on now! A few of the original Joe HQ parts are going to look pretty sweet airbrushed to match the intererior of the custom ship; went through my parts box tonight and pulled good matches that will work for details & wall mounts on the custom ship. How close is your Flagg? All the main parts in place?

Are you going to create a new thread for Day 2?

Couple of questions, as I am going to try this over the weekend... Is heat a factor? It's cold and brutal here, but we should get some sun this week, and could let this sit during the day before I go to work, and check on it when I get home... How did it look for the non-white / gray pieces, like the missiles? Did it bleach them any, or restore natural color? Thanks man, this is a gem of a process. One large step for collectors everywhere.

that's bunk about your price-jacker; this was a mass-produced playset that made the Sears catalogue center back in '85, the parts are around, I could understand if they were mint and maybe he had the last fantail in the US, but $300 is extreme. Can buy a 80-90% complete Flagg on a good day on Ebay for that price.

How close is your Flagg? All the main parts in place? i do also have a bunch of broken parts throughout the toy, but i'm not totally worried about those, except for the supports. we used to have a weight bench in the basement next to where i kept my toys, and my younger brother dropped a 10 pound weight on the deck while it was set up. it was an accident because he had actually given me the flagg when he decided he didn't want gi joe stuff anymore. here are some shots: |
