Hair has always stumped me. Maybe its been a challenge for Hasbro too.
Anyone had any success modifying the multipack female Dialtone's hair? I wish it was more Resolute accurate, or at least does not look so much like Helix's hair? Or in modifying Covergirl's hair so it looks less like rope and more like hair? Even if I can get access to tools, I wouldn't know how. Can it be done? Suggestions?

For Cover Girl, I recommend just hitting it with some canery yellow. I did that to mine and the difference is pretty striking. |

(more...) Alternatively, I'd look at a different head altogether from SW.

This hair for my Dial-Tone was originally Covergirl's. Not the best mod, but just kept hitting it with the x-acto until I was happy with it. tried to keep the strands in front and also thin out the back and inside...

I've been doing head swaps with some of the later SW figs, way easier than cutting into an existing hair style. This thread has a pick of some of them:

I used a dollmakers method for making wigs for dolls. Cut a lenght of cardboard about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide and wrap either floss or cording around the long side until there is enough to cover the figures head. Tie a short lenght around the short side of the loops, then cut the loops open, as if you are going to make a tassel. then simply glue the wig onto the head and trim it to lenght.
