I picked up a 1/18th scale jet looks like a mix between the current ROC Night raven and the S6 Firebat. I am making Wild Weasel his own personal jet what I need help is colors, black would be obvious choice but I want to try to match the grey on the ROC gunship or the blue from the classic Rattler. I would appreciate any help on what colors to buy and what kind of paint to use in trying to acheive this repaint thanks

Which jet did you pick up exactly???
Is that the Target brand one that came out recently? Last edited by Ako Roshi; 11-06-2009 at 04:25 PM.. |

I tend to use model master paint. It's a bit more expensive, but it's really easy to use with great results (IMHO). If you choose to go that route, for the Rattler blue, I would suggest Blue Angel Blue FS15050 (#1972)
And for the gray, maybe Dark Ghost Gray FS36320 (#1741). I don't own the gunship so I can't compare it, but that is a nice deep gray. Last edited by Ako Roshi; 11-06-2009 at 04:26 PM.. |

I went ahead and chose camo grey from testors MM. I'm going with the artic theme it is an amazing color made my sigma custom look factory if I can just take some pics to show an example. Well anyway like a rookie forgot to lay on some primer so a bottle is gone and only covered half but must say from my uneasy nervous shaky strokes looks pretty good. Now all I need is a name. Of course pics to follow
