Like the fella above said, you should have disassembled it.
If you would have used Krylon Fusion (they make a damn fine crimson) you wouldn't need to prime. Just disassemble, mask your windows and do several light layers. Because that's what looks to be the issue. Not enough layers yet. Quote:
it works great on doing vehicles and stuff. you have to spary it in light coats, andin my experience it seems to bond to plastic better as time passes. Like when you spray it on it sticks, but if you wait a day the bond is a bit better and it becomes more durable. Plastic fusion won't work on soft bedy plastic like they use on capes and stuff tho'. |

I disagree I LOVE krylon plastic fusion, it's really good paint. Except the yellow it really sucks, yellows a total bitch color to work with. The plastic fusion burgundy is probably IMO one of the best paints they make. Some plastic fusion stuff needs a primer coat some doesn't depends on the nature of the color. But the burgundy is reallly strong and doesn't need primer coat. I love the stuff and look for excuses to use it.

I believe the full cure time on Fusion in a week. A long time to wait when you really wanna work on something. |

dont know if it was said yet, but when doing red , you use a grey primer, dark grey for a darker red result an a lighter one for a lighter result, an it will take multiple coats of red for uniformity..

Cool..thanks guys! I got some primer last night but it's raining so bad, I can't go outside to do anything. I am gonna take it apart as suggested.
I have used Krylon fusion before but I couldn't find a shade of red I liked so I went with a cheaper paint. I hope I didn't make a mistake in doing that.. |

shades of red = brick (cool) and pink (errr)
The red is letting the camo show through because it's transluscent- and that's because there's no white in it. If you're going to dump a bajillion coats on it anyway, why not hit it with a quick coat of white primer now and red over that to get an even coat. |
