Agree 100%. I'm not Mr. Master Customizer or anything, but compared to some of the stuff Hasbro has put out, my customs look pretty decent. I made a Resolute Firefly, and while it's not spot-on to the cartoon, it looks pretty darn good. Yet I welcome another incarnation of Firefly and I'll display it proudly next to my custom.

Since I suck at customizing I usually welcome Hasbro's version
of a fig that I've been wanting. I mean I'll make the occasional tweak to make something more accurate if it's easy enough...like wetsuit for example. The only custom I ever did, to create a figure that wasn't made was the Sarge, but that was using the two benchpress formula. And I have to say that I'm quite happy with it. So even if Hasbro did put out one eventually I don't know that I would like it over mine

I'm sorry, but with your title I thought about how people are getting discouraged about the things that are happening in their lives not with what HASBRO is releasing. But hey if that's all that discourages you...good for you. More power to you.
I'm sorry guys, I am just having to deal with some bad news right now and it's got me a little irritated. I've started running out of lemonade the last couple months, but things are possibly getting better.

if hasbro makes those resolute figures, they will just be generic figures that anyone can have.
but customs are definitely one of a kind. like they already released a resolute duke, i could have just hunted and buy that figure but i chose not to. instead, i made my own. |

I'm sorry guys, I am just having to deal with some bad news right now and it's got me a little irritated. EDIT: on point, Hasbro's choices don't affect me much since I try real hard to customize either original characters, or unique takes on existing ones. I love the Resolute styling for action figures, I so view the news as super - more fodder to make characters I want using parts I like. But I do get what you are saying. If the figures are independently cool, I'll buy a set to stash away for my son too. Last edited by Dr. Bindy; 10-23-2009 at 12:37 PM.. |

The only thing they beat me on in terms of quality is Resolute Snake Eyes. I usually throw there's in the bin for fodder.

After doing quite a few Star Wars customs that I thought Kenner/Hasbro would never make but then later did... I have totally avoided customizing anything Joe. (except for a head swap or two)
