I have never been so anticipatory of a figure and so disappointed when I finally got him as I was with the MU Submariner figure. I hate the outfit, but was prepared for that. What really killed me was what is probably the worst face ever done for an action figure at this scale. Before I trashed it completely, I decided to follow my own motto and try and repaint it first. I'm still not crazy about his huge schnozz, but I think this is a marked improvement. Should I trash it in favor of a completely new head or is this repainted head worthy of Namor the First?

Yes, what a great job you did, with the added shading and the eyebrows!
Is it just me, or is the paint detail on action figures getting exponentially worse by the year? |

Great job! More often than not, a paint job can make or break a figure, regardless of the sculpt.

Back to the custom though! If Marvel did have better detail then I wouldn't be treated to so many of miked's great works. Sure, he might tweak them if they were better, but I love seeing how his skill manages to overhaul crap into gold. I would keep the head as is, you took care of it. I don't find the nose awful, it adds a little character, and I'm too busy looking at the shading to notice it. Bowen quality as usual! |

Thanks, Dirtbag. I think that was the strangest things I've ever typed.
Thanks! Yeah, it seems like every time they start a new toy line they have to start from scratch. Which means that sometime by wave 15 or 16 the paint apps should start improving as opposed to just starting where they left off on the last line. |

Your subtle shading is awesome. I don't know the character but I actually like the original brows with the sharp arch a bit better.
