Awesome work on your Slaughter! Can't wait to steal this from you. Especially seeing the final result. I don't mind that that the Sarge is in a T-shirt. It looks more practical to have him barking orders with sleeves on. I mean come on, Sgt Slaughter actually wears a unitard under his camo pants

Great job! So how would you get the two different styles of heads to work? I see that with yours, his head articulates like a normal Joe head. So how did you account for the different ball joint types?

BnB figures work on a barbell joint that connects the neck with the head. All you need to do is remove the barbell. Half the time the barbell will stick to the BnB body, leaving you the hole in the head. The other half the barbell stays inside the head cavity. If this happens, drop the head in some boiled water (two and half mins in the microwave) for 60 to 90 seconds. Pull the head back out and use a pair of needle nose plyers to remove the barbell joint.
Afterwards, heat up the head again in the water and then press it on the the Benchpress neck. It doesn't take much force to get the head to pop on. Let it cool off and the head is perfectly set on the Benchpress balljoint neck.

Just in case if anyone wants to make this custom, but can't find the BnB Slaughter figure, Trigate Creations has an original sculpt head. Here is a pic of mine that I painted (waiting to get a Benchpress figure myself).

By using the BnB head and two Benchpress bodies, you can part swap everything to create a solid Slaughter without painting. All you need is some hot water and a screwdriver. I swapped the extra bare forearm from the second figure to the left are and exchanged hands. This gave me a pair of forearms with no tattoos and thus no need to sand off the ink. The knee pad from the second figure was also swapped over by popping out the lower leg pin and again exchanging the parts between the two figures. The result is awesome, as you can see. The skintone between the BnB head and the BP body is slightly different, but you will never notice unless you look really hard.
As for the skin tone, the WWE makeup artist needs to get some new base makeup for the Sarge. Quote:
You can cut it down to one BP if you carefully take the tat off with nailpolish remover. It doesn't eat the soft plastic - just the harder plastic. The kneepad personally wouldn't bother me, as I assume a Sargent would be willing to take a knee & blast his enemies full of lead.
Does the nail polish remover change the appearance of the plastic under the tattoo (i.e. the shine, the feel)? If you hear the BnB Slaughter knee pads, will they stretch to fit over the Benchpress legs? Quote:

Thank you for starting this thread. I finally got my BnB Sarge, but I was still trying to figure out which way to go for the BnB-to-25th Conversion. Now I know ... and you know the rest. |
