My first post...
Kai - Jap word for modified/altered I'm not really aiming for a 100% accurate G.I. Joe Resolute customs. I wanted some creative freedom to do my own mods without giving much expectations in terms of accuracy. The Hasbro Resolute Duke never appeared in our area. I do want a Resolute-based Duke figure but looking at the pictures, it was a big turn-off. It doesn't even look like Resolute Duke at all. He looks more like Channing Tatum cosplaying the Resolute outfit. Hence I decided on making my 2nd G.I. Joe custom; a Resolute Duke. I was eyeing on the Duke figure from the Greatest Battles boxed set and searched for some reviews. Apparently, no one if not only a few people like it. But it's the perfect base figure to me. His skin color is not painted, an anime-ish headsculpt, and he has TF Flint's forearms. His hands and legs need to be fixed though. Replaced his legs with a Crimson Guard's. Then I bought some loose Elite Force BBI figures. I only needed the belts, pouches and the gloved hands but when I looked at the knee pads and the boots, I felt like I wanted those detailed pieces to be in my project. But I was too lazy to sculpt instead, I thought of getting all the parts that I can use on that Elite Force BBI figure and put them on Duke. I even sliced the torso in half to get the tactical vest but it was a failed experiment. In short, this custom is a hybrid. But I still ended up sculpting the pants, belt, boot covers, the tactical vest, arm bands and the half-balaclava (I really like the Gambit effect). I also resculpted the hair. Then the customized parts were painted. I didn't add the elbow pads and the ARMY label on his tactical vest. Whoa! That is awesome. A very "real world" feel to it. I've bought tons of those BBi and 21st cent. figures for parts, but I've never seen them used this well. Great job.

I love it, and I didn't think Resolute Duke could get any more realistic!!
I love the actual modular pouches, and the plate carrier you made. Awesome stuff!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Are all of those pouches individually attached to the vest... and removeable?!? Or did you just take the photo before gluing them on? I think the only thing that I like better about Hasbro's version is the weapon. It's just a personal preference, but I really dig the weapons that they used in Resolute. Very sweet custom!
