Nice job,
what is Short Fuze doing to that mortar?? I am not familiar with the actual use of a mortar but I have never seen anyone doing that to a mortar before! LOL thought you dropped the shell in and it fired out, did not know you needed to ram it like a 1700s 1800s canon with a powder charge!

So what I am trying to do with this diorama is to show the routine tasks performed by several Joe team members immediately after the shooting has stopped. The first thing Short-Fuze would always do would be to punch the bore so that he's ready if he needs to fire again. |

You're correct on the firing of a mortar. What he's doing is cleaning it! After every fire mission (or every 30 rounds), the mortar must be "punched" so that the carbon build-up inside the tube does not become so great as to cause a hang-fire (this can be kinda bad). We use a long staff to do this. The staff is commonly referred to as a donkey dick... no, I'm not joking. It has two attachments that fit on the end. One is a fat brush and the other is a claw-like thing that you wrap with an old T-shirt to make a swab. Basically, you punch the tube with the brush after each fire mission. If time allows, it is also desireable to run the swab down the bore, too.

Hey DNJ, loving the Joe customs and your Star Wars custom Clones are awesome too, especially like the Captain Fordo as the Scout Trooper! Thanks for checking out my customs on my site too. Great work and keep 'em coming!

I would love to see front facing shots of Short Fuse and Steeler. Leather Neck looks good, you've made him look more unique and less like a Gung-Ho clone.
