Question to you gentlemen (and/or lady[ies]):
After you're done sculpting the piece out of "green stuff," how are you attaching it to the figure? I don't imagine it's as simple as pressing onto the fig because a) the item you're attaching should already be dried and b) if it is not already dried, you would smush what you just sculpted. Are you simply super-gluing? (I have bad, bad history with super glue). |

Just wondering for those who have tried different sculpting mediums. How would you rate Milliput vs. Greenstuff vs. Apoxie vs. Fixit?
At first I was in love with Apoxie sculpt, but lately a lot of the items I've been making are removeable and greenstuff is the preferred item but I'm not a huge fan of it. |

I've used Kneadatite (Green Stuff), and Apoxie Sculpt. Kneadatite annoys me, in that it doesn't seem to hold paint very well. I have a lot trouble with paint easily rubbing off of raised details made with it. I've only recently started using the Apoxie Sculpt, but so far I like it. I just did a little reworking with it on my first custom Joe, and it held up to a scratch test pretty good. It's rigid, almost to the point of being brittle. So, it won't work for anything that needs to be able to flex or bend. Small, easily broken details would be better made from Kneadatite, because it'll bend, instead of breaking.
I'll have to say that they both have their uses, but I'll be doing most of my sculpting work with Apoxie Sculpt, from here on out. |

I' ll second Greyryder on this, they both have there uses but I prefer Apoxie sculpt. I find as greenstuff
hardens and cures it tends to obscure the fine details you've worked so hard to sculpt |

Awesome! thanks for directing me to this! It'll definitely up the quality of my custom parts.
