The SW figure Rum Sleg, soon to be released (may be actually out in some places) looks to me like a GREAT base for a Cobra or IG figure. The helmet is a great accessory (and yes, it is removeable, and the skull head is separate), the backpack is a great accessory, but really the whole thing could work. Heck, in the right colors it could be a great Ace or Deep Six, for that matter. But I like it as a modern Toxo-Viper or something like that. All it really needs is a new head for any of these suggestions -- or even leave the head in place and tweak the color scheme only.

Makes me think of the Vashta Nerada from 'Forests of the Dead'

Yeah, but it will probably be short like most SW figures seem to be these days. Or maybe Joes are tall.

His breathing pack looks like it'll be great for Rocketeer-style customs.

I was absolutely shocked when I saw this! In August of '08 I posted this guy and another spacer from Mos Espa as suggestions in the wishlist thread on sandtroopers. I can't believe they're actually going to make him! I know I probably didn't, but I can't help feeling like my suggestion made a difference!

I'm thinking that head would make for a nice Devil's Due Skullbuster.

I like the chest piece, will rival the Roc Flash piece for sure.
