Hidden pegs, actually. The base is pink insulation foam, so I cut the heads off of some short nails I had lying around, that were slightly under the diameter of the smallest peg hole, and pressed them in. Inelegant, but it works!

This is an awesome display! Did you do static grass, or are those mats you put down? My guess is static grass, but I can't see the pictures that detailed on my phone.

Thanks, dude. It's a static grass blend, with a bit of sisal for the drier bits. I also used the static grass on the trees, with a liberal coat of rattle can.
