Rock figures were easy to miss. They never had the store shelf presence that GI Joe or Star Wars did. Even at a glance a kid could see you were getting something subjectively better with a GI Joe figure. My love for them came largely out of seeing them as a way to get figures at a 2:1 Sgt. Rock:GI Joe ratio because they were so much cheaper, and my dad was laid off then.
