What a piece of garbage! You chose the worst character to make your favorite character, and then you produce this wretched creation... Pitiful...
...and of course that is totally the opposite of how I feel about this custom! Slice, you have a way of making each version of Firefly unique, yet totally recognizable as the same character (or in this case a character who has taken the namesake of that character). Your paints are smooth and clean, as always. The parts are thoughtfully selected, and the colors match the original uniform almost perfectly! I dig both of the masked heads, so don't ask me to choose which is better. I do like the addition of the headset on the one though. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture, that I think this is brilliant! -Todd Shakka85 I appreciate you man and thanks for the support. Quote:
100%. I mean, baby face Duke rocked a scar from the start but guys don?t want scars on a sabetour? Crazy man. That?s why I don?t listen to what people want Becuase no one?s knows. I?m going to drop my versions. And it?s ok if my style is not for some, but my goal is to make a top shelf figure that out shines other lines with a realistic mature style. We as Joe collectors deserve that. We don?t deserve 3rd or 4th shelf concepts anymore. I want toys that don?t look like toys. So I create .

My secret is the spiteful ones. Quote:
I think more collectors would go for the type you create if those were an option. There's still some hokeyness to collecting "toys" 40 years after the fact, but quality collectibles never get old.
Scars on Lady Jaye, Zarana, or Cover Girl would've been interesting to me. Imo, if you are going to customize, at minimum you have to make it look better than factory. Anything past that is a different level and there are a lot of different tiers to reach.

Instead of going the build-a-bear route, at what level does it become better to offer "privately commissioned only" customization in order to attain the level of quality that both the customizer and the customer can agree on? |

It's all a learning curve. I painted my first figure last week, but a year from now, who's to say what the reach will be if I stick with it. Customizing a character with a 40+ year history can be tricky given all the variations and all the head-canons about that character.
Instead of going the build-a-bear route, at what level does it become better to offer "privately commissioned only" customization in order to attain the level of quality that both the customizer and the customer can agree on? For me I don?t care much about the paragraphs on a figure with a head switch. I like seeing the work. Which customizer utilized parts, where those parts came from, his/her style of painting, was the head switched or painted? And then if all of that isn?t cool enough did he/she at minimum make it on par with the OG design? Was it surpassed? Which is all at one specific customizing level. That?s one reason I really like Oz work Becuase he breaks figures down switches parts and joints, does great paint work and honors the 1/18 way.
