Just a quick addition to this. I really liked the classified take on Grunt and felt like this was just the project for the Walmart retro figure. Disclaimer. I absolutely hate the retro Walmart release line. The plastic is rubbery and feels too much like old marvel universe line. So this was a great opptunity to use this figure that would have otherwise been unused.




First up, that giant noggin had to go. I replaced it with an old pit commando head, which was used for airborne and dusty and othes(?), IIRC.... The head doesn't scream "Grunt" to me, but it will do for now. The main thing is the Steel Brigade helmet will fit now.

I painted the scarf(?) red in an effort to capture an '82 feel, but it also covers up my mistake(!). I wanted to thin his 22" neck down to something more appropriate for his head and well.... I dremelled the the neck a wee bit too thin to where his neck looks like green Swiss cheese. So, if you try this one yourself, be aware of that. But the scarf covers it up well and matches the other Steel Brigade members. It will irk me, but not enough to make me buy another Walmart grunt, haha!

I had an extra danger at the docks Flint and wanted to do something with it. And this just seemed like it was dying to made into the Night Force variant.



I didn't really care for jaundiced Flint, so I used an extra Flint in disguse head. And the forearms were replaced with Joe Colton's to (somewhat) match the head. Oh, and I felt the datd web gear was a little to bulky, so I opted for the lighter 25th release gear.

An easy peasy one that doesn't really merit a page to himself, but I felt he turned out cool enough to make a cameo here.

Head: 25th Flint in disguise
Forearms: Joe Colton
Hands: 30th Cobra trooper
Webgear: 25th Flint
Shotgun: probably Marauders???
All the rest: Datd Flint
