I love that kayak that came with stalker v2.
As a kid, I had cut the back peg on it so it could play better on table and carpet etc... But I never got it to float very well. it would float, but a little bit of water and it would sink. Some of you claim it never worked well, others say it can float fine. Recently, I considered sealing the kayak, adding foam inside etc... Then, what the heck. Might as well 3d print it. The advantages of 3D printing are that we can create complex pockets and undercuts not feasible with traditional prototyping. The shape/design is a little ugly but functional. Stalker's accessories and weapons can be stored inside. only the leg area can be flooded while most of the kayak body remains a large air chamber. bottom is flat. It is a little larger and wider, just to be decently stable. comparison with original ( with real snow ! ): having more fun with it: Files are free. I use ABS plastic. I print in sections then glue them. sealing is best but not necessary as long as the section seam is perfectly joined. Make your own and tell me what you think ! |

I had plans to 3D print this, but my printer stopped working... All I get is a thick layer of resin on the build plate, and then it starts falling off the plate. I am not sure of the problem, as it had worked fine up to the point when it stopped working. Anyone with any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how to fix it? Anyway, that kayak is sweet, which is why I was going to print it, too! I was hoping to do the single piece version, so no sealing necessary. And your pictures are really "cool", bro!

Your update is phenomenal.
Love the diligent work and design. I lament that I do not have a printer, but if I did, I would certainly place this kayak in the front of my collection.

Your video reminds me how incredibly fun vintage Joes are. They were a perfect size with just the right amount of articulation to go on tons of adventures and they could hold their poses and were durable enough to toss around. Stalker v2 was and is one of my favorite figures.

I considered it, I wanted to go lazy and just duplicate the seating section and butt them.. turns out the surfaces require a bit more work to match... I am lazy. It can be done but would have to be done properly. No slam bam unfortunately.
I did add lego compatible posts for adding stabilizers and accessories. Actually, what I am really feeling is more like an open 2 seater, open top, for the likes of Gnawgahyde and Croc master... River canoe... with a stabilizer? |
