My take on the Brazilian figure, but with a removable helmet the covers his entire head.

I love and hate those colors at the same time. It's provocative, like many of the late neon joe figures in the 90's. Most of them were misses but some had killer color combinations like this that just made you want to stick one on your desk so you could enjoy the splash of color.
Looking up the vintage figure it seems it was more desaturated. I think I like your take better.

Looking up the vintage figure it seems it was more desaturated. I think I like your take better. I was happy with how dense/crisp the yellowish green turned out. I think underpainting it with a light primer coat really helped. The blue on my custom is not as tealish-blue as the Brazilian figure, from what I can tell from internet images. I also went lighter on the grey of the pants so that the other colors would pop more. |
