Issue 26 was one of the absolute high points of ALL GI Joe lore, across all the different media. Larry's pencils and Leialoha's inks were fantastic. Such a shame they only did two issues. The gritty realism of Vietnam was a stark contrast to the outlandish Sunbow cartoon. The 2006 three-pack was high on my list of wants, but it sold out before I ever had a chance to own it. Now it's aftermarket value puts it forever out of reach. Definitely one of my biggest collecting mistakes was waiting too long on that one. I didn't care for the Tommy figure in that pack anyway...thought he was too buff. They could have chosen a better torso for him. If I were President of Hasbro, my first wish would be a Classified rendition of these guys, as accurate as possible. So in other words...I'd just mass produce your customs! |
