You ever go through spare parts of what you have and realize you could do something with them in between projects? That's what happened to me. I went through my stuff and saw on Craniac Studios site they had an Indiana Jones head with the hat already sculpted on it. So I gave it a try
Trying to figure out the different shades of brown ended up being more fun than I thought. If there's a couple of downsides, it's that I hate doing eyes and this head may be slightly too big for the Marauders body I'm using, but overall I like how it came out. Eventually I'll try to get a satchel, holster and Webley revolver to go for a more accurate Indy, but that's not a top priority right now. Marauders would have most, if not all of that anyway. For something that's a place holder while I wait for stuff for other pulp customs, I'm happy. Oh, also, I didn't have the right color base, so I took a green Hero H.A.C.K.S. base and painted it a sandy, desert color as best as I could. |

Dude, I really like it. Indy is a fav of mine and my son and never really made a good 4” one back in 2008/09.

The head looks good against the body, especially with the jacket adding a bit of mass to the torso.
It's good to see a solid 1:18 Indy, as Hasbro messed up Indy in its Indiana Jones line. Ironically, all of the other figures were pretty decent, but the pants/legs on Indy were atrocious. |

Thanks everyone! I've been worried about the size of the head and the eyes, but everyone's kind words help. I guess we're all our own worst critics.
I wonder how people do a five o'clock shadow on their customs. Is that even possible? The only thing I can think of is maybe a slight layer of strong tone, but you'd have to position the brush just right. |

I got an extra Indiana Jones head. I wonder if I could do a Temple of Doom with a machete look?

I was gonna do a similar build, but the shortness of that jacket and buffness of that torso caused me to mate a 2008 Indy upper body with the MTF legs (the brown ones). Seeing it all together though makes me think maybe I'll give it another crack. Nice job!

Great job with the Indy custom! Don't think the head you obtained from Craniac Studios is disproportionate here; on the contrary your choice of parts is spot on IMHO. Also, fantastic job with transitioning with the browns, I can almost tell you've had fun with that and you did apparently!

SmokeBellew, you should totally try it. It's fun!
Thanks Paokole! I had my Hasbro Indiana Jones figure and some images for reference. You all are great! I appreciate it! |
