Good morning tankers,

You want a challenge? Try making magenta a feared color.
Mix that with gold and a wonky sculpt concept from 1988, then you got yourself a challenge.

To top it off, make that a general, Destros General and that concept seems damn near impossible.

I wanted to tip my hat to the colors of what we got back in the ?80s, but make him make sense if that?.makes sense.

His torso sculpt was strange, so I just did my own thing with remastering his overall asthetic.

He was a challenged boys. But I think he came out pretty rad.

All hand painted including both heads, real fur on his companion, and ALOT of love.

Lastly big shout outs it to my guy Jason over at JSArmory. Fantastic casts, and great great guy.

Honestly, that is a work of art. I would say hands down your best custom and that is saying something. Not one single flaw and the paint job is perfect in every way. Honestly, I could not have told that was a custom except for the fact that a factory figure would not have been this perfect painted. I was always a fan of Voltar as a kid, so I'm glad to see him getting some love.

Holy Squirrel tits!! That’s a brillant looking custom. Super clean paint, I know gold can be a bitch to work with ( at least it was for me years back) and it came out perfect. Like the details you put into this. The eye on the helmet with the lighter shade adds a nice touch a realism. Don’t know if it was intentional or a happy accident but the apparent damage on the right shoulder armour looks fantastic. From head to toe this update is 1st class! Do they still do the front page honours here? Cause this absolutely belongs there! Haven’t been back very long but of the customs I’ve seen this is definitely a favourite. Looking forward to more IGs from you

And the hits just keep coming! I don't know how you do it, but you keep making these quirky and somewhat odd characters come off as legit threats to the Joes.

Yeah, magenta is about as unthreatening a color as you can imagine, but put it on this custom, and he is about as intimidating as they come! I am torn between the two head sculpts, as both are equally well done, and while I am a fan of the removable helmet, I understand not wanted to rub the paint off of the sculpt that is wearing it. I guess you just have to make a second body to adorn the disembodied sculpt...

Voltar SHOULD be intimidating. I think the colors are great on him.

The bad guys have very few serious military tactician leader threats. Voltar fits this need perfectly. He should be way more scary than Cobra Commander, he's the kind of man Destro would put in charge of the Iron Grenadiers and Cobra Commander would try to freelance hire to lead his troops into battle.

+1 for doing him back to back with Darklon. I love Darklon, especially after the comic really expanded on his personality.
