Celebrating their 40th anniversary, here is the set of the standard 8 figures from Remco's The Bad Guys.
A group shot presented as it might have looked as an early 80's print ad, and in regular format. Thanks for everyone who've pushed me to finish this set. My approach was to make every other custom I do this year one of a TBG figure. Now that the regular cardback figures are done, I'll be moving on to the more obscure figures and interpreting them as customs. Last edited by Clockwise; 06-14-2022 at 02:38 PM.. |

Awesome to see the line finished. You had me on the "cardback". I 100% thought that was an 80s remco one. Great shot there.

I'll ask your opinion on the next phase... It will start off with one unnamed Bad Guy who was included with a raft set, but everyone just assumed was a recolor of Scorpion. But... there's no name on the set, so I've decided it needed a new identity. After that, there were 4 static figures, all unnamed. 1 was a paratrooper, and the other were included with the Big Bad Chopper as its support crew. Think little green army men scaled up and molded in black and you've got it. So, as someone who appreciates the 80's even more than me- what do you think- keep the static figures generic like the Remco figures, or flush them out into more developed characters? I have decided to go with low POA on the helicopter figures as a nod to the static nature of the Remco ones. I think those 5 will cover EVERY Bad Guy made by Remco. (But if there are more I wouldn't be too surprised.). |

You know me I like to stay as close to the source material as possible, but you made some subtle changes to the "named" Bad Guys and I thought they worked really well. It's really all up to you. One thing I've realized about making customs is it should all be about what you enjoy. If going more in-depth is your path do it. It actually might be cool to give them names and bring them more to life.
Yeah... I think I'll give them more personality than the original static figures, but find a way to visually tie the helicopter support team together. |

Yes, whenever I run out of storage space in my account I drop the oldest ones.
This should be a dead thread, but the post above yours pulled it up, just to promote the drift boss link. |
