Paokole makes the point that a comparison shot would be useful, and I think he is right. Last edited by ARBCO Avenue; 09-27-2021 at 12:32 PM.. |

… anyone interested in lending me an untouched retro Scarlett so I can take comparison pics? If interested I could fix a paint app or two. No zippers though. I’ve had enough PM me if interested. |

You just have more attention to detail than they do. The torso is originally from the 50th Ann. female cobra officer, which I believe was meant to be wearing generic combat uniform trousers and a tucked-in under armour/spandex shirt. It's just not a detail that was considered when the Joe team at hasbro made the part configuration for Scarlett. Her 25th sculpt, dated as it is compared to more recent sculpt designs, was an actual leotard and lacked the fly zipper.

Derek Smith, you are absolutely right. I was being a bit facetious. Thanks for your kind words.

Very nice and much improved from the original release..you gave her the proper gloves which the sculpt sorely needed. The zippers are subtle and sit well on her torso, but the grenade seems a little awkward to me. I feel like I need to see it attached to a strap or bandolier or something, but that's just me.

Thanks for the idea, McBennett. In the original ‘82 O-ring Scarlett, the green grenade on the left shoulder almost looks embedded into her, typical of the designs at that time. I actually briefly toyed with the thought of sanding off the painted red pad on the upper right shoulder then attaching both a new shoulder pad and the grenade to the 50th Cobra Officer shoulder harness, so as to be removable. It might have been cool but in the end I chose to stick to an homage that was a cross between the card art and the original ‘82 figure. Your kind feedback is appreciated.

Bumping this thread in honor of the upcoming Classified Retro Scarlett that also has zippers, LOL! It?s a nice detail, and the first time an official Scarlett has had them…
I was starting to forget some of the things I had done to improve her until I bought a new one. Last edited by ARBCO Avenue; 12-08-2023 at 01:58 AM.. |
