Day 29 - Finale Day 1 of 2
"The Hunt for Blood" The Baroness, Baroness Elite Trooper and Major Bludd by Subway! "The concept for these three figures comes from the fact that Major Bludd seems to be the one major Cobra that is killed in modern media. So I thought what if Cobra Commander had wanted Bludd killed and sent the Baroness to do the deed. She kills him and tell the Commander the job is done but Blood somehow survives. So years later he is in hiding out and the Baroness finds out he is not dead. So she sends her daughter who is now the Baroness to finish the job. So the new Baroness and her elite troop of mercenaries goes on the hunt for Major Bludd." - Stuart Wever (Subway) The Baroness by Subway The Baroness Elite Trooper by Subway Major Bludd by Subway Extra feature: Chameleon by icecreamman Jackal (Safari Hunter) by icecreamman Next: Finale Day 2 of 2! |

Day 30 - Finale Day 2 of 2!
"Dreadnok Rampage: Escapades in the Everglades" by Just Ian Customs! "The 2004 G.I.Joe Convention "40 Years of Adventure" that took place in Orlando, FL. gave us one of the great “o-ring” Box set, the Dreadnok Rampage. Sadly, the only “o-ring” set I have is 2007 “Tanks for the Memories”." "That being said, I wanted to create a modern version of this set adding missing key characters: Torch, Monkeywrench, Gnawgahyde and Zandar. I might add Zanya, Burn Out, Storm Rider, Kaos and Heartwrencher in the future, we never know." "My biggest challenge was to stay as close as possible to the regular modern version. If some of the early 25th figure builds were not great, the famous Dreadnok Battle set that came out in 2011 was amazing. I was lucky enough to score a loose set many years ago, so I had most of the parts available. Only one problem… Zarana! That figure is hard to find and not cheap. Having her part of the set was essential to the project. Since I own the SDCC standard version and some parts of Zanya I managed to cast all the parts needed and created my own copy of Zarana. I also did a copy of Hardtop head FSS version and also Junkyard from the 25th anniversary figure." "The Dreadhead head is a modified BFS Zorro head with accessories from MTF that gave them a very similar look to their “o-ring” counterparts." "I hope you’ll enjoy these as much as it was fun (and painful) to make ;-) " - Ian Lalonde (Just Ian Customs) WIP shots There you have it! 30 days 17 artists 90 customs This is G.I. It's been a great run these past 30 days, seeing all of the creativity and craftsmanship! Kudos to all who's hands were involved in making this happen, and special thanks to icecreamman for being the one to organize and post the work the others have done!
