They look very cool . They look even shinier than the originals! (not sure how chromey they were when new, but just judging by catalogue pictures!).
Was it very expensive to chrome them? one must admit they did a very good job of it. I might have added a bit of brown just to make it look more toylike, but superb results nevertheless. I can’t argue with the results as the parts look amazing. I didn’t even start assembling them for about an hour after I unboxed them because I couldn’t stop marveling at their beautiful finish. 😁 I thought about adding some brown to match the engines on the Sky Raven but I would want to color match it. I don’t have an air brush so I just went with straight flat black. I think it also helps to differentiate that the Conquest and Skystriker are customs while the Sky Raven is an official release product. |

I sent them to Muller Corporation to have them chromed. Here’s their website.
https://muellercorp.com/ Like I said in a previous post they have a minimum order amount of $300 so it’s worth it to wait till you have a lot of parts you want chromed and just send them all at once. Their results are amazing. Keep in mind that the Sky Raven in the pics was done a couple of years back. It still looks fantastic next to its new friends. Interesting fact. A few years ago when I restored my Sky Raven I was exchanging emails with the owner of the company. He told me that they were the company Hasbro used to chrome the Sky Ravens back when the toy released. Apparently the rest of the Sky Patrol line was metalized in another country but the Ravens were done right here in the good old U.S.A. 🇺🇸 |

They look amazing! I may be going through mid-life crisis, but I'm finding chrome items very sexy!
I posted this in another thread, I recently found these Molotow chrome markers, and they really work! Of course, the downside is the markers don't really work on big flat surfaces, and once chromed, you can't really touch them. Your Sky Patrol planes looks excellent! I guess it's good that the Muller Corporation process is so expensive, or else I'd probably want to chrome a LOT more stuff! |

That's pretty sweet. As an alternative I know a bunch of people have used a company called Creations n Chrome to do Bowen Designs statues in chrome. I've never personally done it, but the pieces I've seen are awesome. Here's a thread about it, my apologies if I am breaking a forum rule. Absolutely beautiful. Going the extra step of adding decals locks down everything.

Amazing story, thanks for sharing ;) . It is indeed costly, but the results are simply perfect, impossible to get better.
