Wouldn't a custom action figure book be complicated to pull off, not because of the vast array of 'action' figures out there (Star Wars, GI Joe, Marvel, Wrestling, ect) but that any customizing book done today might be outdated a year from now with how designs change over time?
Granted, you would need to adapt with the figure changes, but that makes owning a book rather silly, no? Tom I only posted the book publishing info stuff because someone quoted that you would have to create and sell 10,000 copies of a book to get it done.

SWG,
I understand what you're saying, but it just seems a tad bit excessive - I would just go with the pay website by itself. I've never read a manual or instruction guide and then felt like I knew how to pull off whatever it described. I felt more secure in my info after being instructed by another person or seeing it done in action. The instantaneous nature of the internet and access to video features make a book seem like a cave painting at this point. ; ) And not only that, but how in depth would a customizing book go? Would it just be the knowledge we have now? Take for example a person like Zombieguide, who's known fairly well among the Joe community for his secret process of creating "99% chip-proof" paint jobs. Would there be any attempt to get that sort of technique from someone like him, or would it just be the base knowledge you can get nearly anywhere (sand, paint, seal, ect) I use ZG as a reference, not the only interesting person who's contributions would be worth picking up a book. And, due to the nature of the internet, I'd like to point out that I'm not being rude or snarky or provocative - in fact, I have taken a friendly approach to this conversation. : D Tom

Please stop talking. The amount of insider information that you have is exactly zero.
Know how I know this? Because you posted a declassified flyer which was meant for fun as a NEWS ITEM. No one would ever tell you anything because the VERY FIRST THING you would do is post it here. Probably incorrectly. |

What about like an online monthly newsletter, which contributors from the tank or joe customs that would want to write articles (including you) that discussed different parts of customizing like skin color with pics, hair color, how to paint eyes, the best tools. Does that sound good?

I voted yes but it all depends on who puts the book out. Jin Satome or FrenzyRumble.

I would like one. I am surprised some one has not made a book on customizing yet. its something that is way over due. it should have maybe a tutorial DVD or CD with it, or you should also put videos on a website
