Oh wow these are great close ups of the figures. Can't wait to see the others. Love the file cards too. Your posts are always so much fun to look through.

Great job, I would've bought a ton of these from the club if they looked like this.

FIGURE 3: MAN OF ACTION
Today's figure is perhaps the most basic Adventure Team build--the Man of Action! The Man of Action originally appeared in the pre-Adventure Team "G.I. Joe" line, and looks about as close to a standard "G.I. Joe" as you're likely to find in the AT line (mostly because he uses the same head sculpt). Here's a quick comparison shot with the original 1970s figure. Like the members of the Adventure Team, however, the Man of Action eventually got his own backstory, largely played out in the pages of the GI Joe Collector's Club Magazine dossiers and short comics. John Steele here appears to have been one of the favorite characters of comic writers Tod Pleasant and Lanny Lathem, as several stories in the short comics focus on his espionage-associated endeavors. In fact, in Steele's very first storyline, he gets tied up with rescuing a kidnapped young noblewoman who turns out to be a young version of the treacherous Baroness of the ARAH line, in one of the earliest direct ties between the two eras that I can find (there will, naturally, be a lot more to come on this score). The Man of Action never got his own figure in the Hasbro 25th Anniversary modern line the same way that his teammates the Adventure Team Commander (Troubleshooter) and Air, Land, and Sea Adventurers did, but he got several dedicated 12-inch figure outfits and playsets. As I said above, he's one of the more fleshed-out characters in the Collector's Club Magazine. Like the others, his dossier gave the Man of Action a code name: "Mr. Noone." The Collector's Club Magazine, though very thin, had a lot going for it, but quality copy editing is not among its finest virtues. I am pretty sure that they meant to say "Mr. No One" (he is, after all, a master of disguise with a mysterious background), so I'm going with my gut here. Sticking with the "Noone" construction will constantly make me think of Herman's Hermits, and I'm afraid I can't have that, even if it is somewhat appropriate to the Adventure Team timeline. Let's take a look at some other angles of my Man of Action custom. A pretty simple custom overall, and very similar to the Mike Triumph build, only with a different head. They do call their costumes _uniform_ for a reason, and as I got started on this project I wanted to bust out a lot of the green uniforms first so I could do them in a single batch. The head here is the beardless Action Jackson head from Zica Toys, a figure I'm going to keep going back to as long as I'm doing Adventure Team customs. It's pretty much perfect to capture the original Adventure Team look. MR. NO ONE RECIPE HEAD: Zica Toys Action Jackson TORSO & ARMS: Marauder WW2 US Marine WAIST & UPPER LEGS: Marauder WW2 US Marine LOWER LEGS & FEET: Marauder Contract Ops REVOLVER: Marauder WW2 SHOULDER HOLSTER: POC General Hawk Up next, let's get some non-green colors up in here! Thank you. At first I thought the file cards would be a big hassle, but once I figured out how to do them it's quite enjoyable. Besides, these characters are super obscure, so I figure they give a window into who they actually are.

Darn you Erik.
You’re trying to convince me into buying more WWII figures from Marauders aren’t you?
