Thanks for all the comments everyone.
Joerhyno - the gauntlets are partially TDK, but the arms and hands are entirely Duke. What I did was cut the gauntlets off the TDK figure, then cut them in half since I thought they were too big and disproportionate. Then I hollowed out the side with the blades - which was a total pain because these are made of really soft rubber plastic so my dremel was basically useless and I had to resort to very carefully working with an xacto blade. Then I glued them onto the forearms. As for the legs, the legs are Duke until just below the knee. There I attached TDK boots, but I wanted ankle articulation, so I cut off the feet, drilled a little hold, and stick in some fodder feet and shaved off the boot laces. Also the knee armor is sliced off a TDK figure and glued on. RolandofGilead - I didn't touch up the Bruce Wayne head, it actually came like that. In fact this custom uses very little paint. I used acetone to take away the armor drybrush details and flesh paint on the neck. I added just a bit of paint to cover up the glue marks, and then gave the figure a once over with a black wash to even out the color all over. slim19722 - Very cool Bats. I love that armored Bat head. I didn't think about it until I first picked up Duke, but pretty instantly, as soon as I did, I knew I had to make a Batman out of it. Love that Cyborg too! I'd love to make a Joker, but I'm struggling with ideas for parts and the head - I'm not sure my sculpting skills are up to snuff at this scale. I know that Trigate has a great looking option, but it's always sold out - I can never keep up with their updates and everything I want is always sold out - suit torso, most of the female torso's, Bruce Willis head, etc. I am currently working on a Jim Gordon though. I hope to unveil him soon. |

Excellent custom. Just thinking about the symbol - I'd sculpt it from a sheet of milliput or greenstuff, or very thin soft plastic. It'll look better than painted.

Loved this so much I immediately went home and did one myself! Mines a bit different though. Used the whole batman gloves/hands, and also the pecks/neck (had to chop off the duke neck and sand down the upper chest a bit). I haven't painted him yet either. Oh, and I came up with a different way to attach the shoulder pads, flex rex hidden under the cape. That way they don't limit the range of motion.
