This was a very very special one to me.
Being part Native American myself, I wanted to honor every aspect I could to correctly represent Spirit in every way imaginable. I started with real deer sinew wrapped and attached to a medicine bag. Then added cotton around his ankles, real braid string around his hair, a real hand cut leather knife sheath as well as some copper/ sterling jewelry attached to an arrowhead. All completely hand painted. Hand cut fabrics, and like I stated prior, his feathers on his ankle are true form to represent that Spirit has killed. Hence the red dot and black tipped feathers. This one might be my favorite I’ve ever done. I feel like I have Finally captured Spirit as we all have wanted. CRUSHED IT! Honestly my favorite thing is the wrap on his arm for Freedom to sit on. Such a small detail but it really stands out. I love that you didn't go too dark and gritty with this one and kept the bright blue shirt. That was something to me that always stood out about Spirit. The head is obviously a massive improvement over the horror we got on the 25th. Top to bottom you did my 2nd favorite Joe justice.

Is that a 4" figure? It looks like it from the stand but I can't believe the level of detail. Just amazing work. And I love the historic and cultural accuracy you incorporated.

I’ve seen many a Spirit custom and I must say this is the best one I’ve seen posted here. Spectacular job!

I'd say this is probably my favorite custom of yours as well. All of the extra real life material just works so incredibly well on this.
Just really great; I think it might even be your best one. |
