Spawn has become one of those projects where not only does the detail increase with each rendition (you should see the simplicity of my very first one), but also the general complexity. Last time I made torn capes, and added a ton of spikes. This time around, the cape had to be removeable. A challenge, but I think it came out pretty well.
First thing requested, removeable cape. Second thing, many, many less spikes. So, I sculpted up the leg bands, upper leg pouches, skull on the waist, spikes on the hands, arm band and added spikes to about half the arm band so they wouldn't hit the torso or cape. Then, I sculpted the entire cape. Made it big enough to wrap around him, but also where it would reach the ground. That way it looks great displayed, but can also be easily removed. Glued some small chain on, gave him a full repaint, and all done!
