NAME: Wilmer S. Duggleby
CODENAME: Hardball SERVICE BRANCH: US Army GRADE/RANK: Corporal (E-4) SPECIALTY: Multi-shot grenadier; Infantry; Special services Born in Cooperstown, New York, a community that is best known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Hardball played five seasons of playing centerfield in the minor leagues. Hardball came to the realization that the big league scouts just weren't interested in athletic prowess; they wanted star quality. The Joe Team was more interested in team-players than in stars, and they had a real need for a guy who could judge distances accurately and react quickly with deliberation. His skills in pitching baseballs came in handy when he began chucking grenades with the same pinpoint accuracy as a fastball, earning him a spot on the G.I. Joe roster, where he remained until the 1994 closure of the group. Memorable appearances for Hardball include saving the President from being kidnapped by Cobra at a baseball game by throwing a grenade at the invading troops. "Grenade launchers are fitted with adjustable, graduated sights, calibrated in 25 meter increments. In a firefight, nobody wants to start readjusting sights-especially the blooper man. Hardball can drop a 40mm frag into a bucket from 75 meters, simply by eyeballing it. The man's a natural." Parts Used: Head: BFS Blank Torso: 25th Bazooka(arms cut at the sleeves) Arms: Retro Roadblock Gloves: 50th Leatherneck Legs: Retro Roadblock Grenades on Legs: Handmade from stainless tubing Backpack and Grenade Launcher: ARAH Cubs Ballcap: 1996 Starting Lineup Sammy Sosa Last edited by sbartek1974; 01-30-2021 at 02:28 AM.. |

Never been a huge fan of Hardball but this looks great! Love the parts you chose and the fact he is huge. It really plays into the fact he could have been a pro athlete.

I mean, the guy looks massive in his card art so it only makes sense, right? And yes, him being a pro athlete and being big goes hand in hand. |

Great work dude! Hardball's always been a fave of mine, in fact he was one of the first I picked up with this iteration of my collection. The starting lineup cap is perfect.

Thank you Satan! I had to find that perfect ball cap and what better than a Starting Lineup Sammy Sota. I just feel bad because the guy I purchased it from was excited knowing there was another Starting Lineup collector out there. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I would being decapitating poor Sammy and dremelling his head from his cap.

LOL - you really are playing hardball here with this custom, and it’s definitely a home run! Clever call splicing the arms like that and adding the custom grenades! I never thought there would be such a good use for that 25th torso. You win!

You made an Aaron Judge version of Hardball instead of a Hank Aaron version. Hahahaha.

Awesome Hardball! First, I love the Cubs cap so bonus points there. Great recipe too. Standout to me is your painting. Great work. Be proud of this without a doubt.
