Howdy. You might remember me from my Adventure People customs. I've done about a dozen more customs since the last time I posted on the Tank, and in that time I've learned a lot about how to customize figures. Last week I decided to put everything I've learned so far into an ambitious project--fixing Spirit Iron-Knife.
When I got into the customizing hobby at the beginning of the pandemic, I naturally checked in on some of my childhood favorites. I missed the whole 25th Anniversary era, so I was eager to see how some key characters fared in their modern incarnations. With Spirit, I must say I was highly disappointed by what I found. Most of the figures seemed like a cheap try at sneaking a Billy from Predator figure into the line, and didn't look at all like the '84 Spirit I had as a kid. Worse, the one that was based on the original figure had tiny proportions and a ridiculous head that looked like a racist stereotype and had super dumb hair to boot. Something had to be done. So I did this. Head: AngelForge Torso: Marauder British Soldier Arms: Marauder Contract Ops Waist: Marauder Contract Ops (leg pegs heavily shaved down) Legs, Webgear, Gun, Backpack: 25th Anniversary Spirit (extended webgear with putty) Knife: Fodder Decals: BadMother Paints: Reaper |

Nice work. Especially on the backpack and rifle.

Looks great. Super clean paint and nice job modding those legs onto the MTF upper.

You did a great job with him! Everyone adding proper versions of Spirit to their collections recently! Great thing to see because he’s such an awesome character that the 25th v1 just didn’t represent well.
Excellent choices for the parts and that paint job is top notch! Has a cartoon look to it which I love! Great job on the facial feature, love the subtle touch of giving the lips a different color.

This is great, and probably one of best looking, and most faithful Spirit builds I've seen! I love the parts choices.
