I was looking at the card art some more when I found out I messed up a bit on her. Looks like I forgot to paint the upper chest and neck part. Now she is finally Ultimate I guess:

Looks great, but damn son, you gotsta thin that paint down. Something to help break the surface tension like Pledge Classic with Futura (or whatever it is called now). A trick I have found is that you need to let it intermingle with the paint for a few minutes before it forms nice layer. No water needed. The mixture will dry to a smooth surface if applied carefully. It the paint is matte it ends up a nice non glossy satin.

I find Vallejo paints tend to be too thin already. But I do get the same, not smooth, final look that the poster was talking about.

Maybe I'm just too impatient and don't want to wait for multiple thin layers to dry. That's probably why my paint jobs are so thick.
