I recently started collecting again because of the retro line release. To get started I bought a Warthog that had some damage and missing engine cover. I've never been a MIB person and I saw this as a chance to fix it up myself.
I measured out the opening, researched what the real hatch looks like, modeled a new hatch, then printed that out and painted it with some Tamiya paints. I had to make a couple of iterations on the hatch. I'd actually like to take one more pass on the hatch to make it thinner and fit better but for now I think it's battle worthy. Hope this is considered "customs" and is interesting to other collectors. Thanks. |

I almost like this one better than the original. It kind of gives it an "add-on upgrade" appearance you see on military vehicles. But I also commend you for trying to get the part as close to original as possible.

Thanks for the feedback! The warthog is also one of my favorites. I love the vehicles that can hold a bunch of figures and have various stations to shoot from. Just fill them up to head out on a mission. And it floats!

Is it a filament print or a resin print? It almost looks like resin.
