Making worthless Data Vipers useful...
The Exo-Armor gives the added bulk the figure needs plus a little extra stability to a very wobbly figure. I know the control gear is swapped and inverted but that's the only way to make it work with the Exo-Armor on the arms. And finally without the upper rig and helmet...

The Data Viper looks way better with that gear.

Agreeing with stljoe, that Data-Viper looks way better! The Exo-Suits are a great addition to give them the bulk they need.

The Exo-Armor makes them look badasses as it adds just the right amount of armor bulkiness, stability as well as you mentioned so those are some solid geared-up figures right there!

Here's a guy I just cobbled together. He's mostly a head swap that had to be done, but other issues arose. This is almost as much a review as just a kitbash.
Here's the head he came with... which wasn't so bad when he was wearing his original bigger vest. Your eyes do not deceive you... the skin tone is that far off. While a common problem with Joes this is the first time I've encountered it with JoyToy. Next the other problems: First and Worst - Both knees broke like they just deteriorated. I was posing him to take pictures and his right leg fell off without a snap or anything. I was repairing him when the second broke the same way. I can't figure it out as the only problematic joint I've previously encountered were the elbows on earlier figures. I'm lucky to have replacements that work colorwise, as I don't think he came with replacements. I'll update if I find them. Next he needs a vest to be posed because of the major gap at torso. Not the biggest deal by far, But if you're looking to get this figure to show off the chest and back tattoos his pose-ability becomes somewhat of an issue. Same with his neck but to a lesser extent. Lastly he came with a dark brown "wash" but it's thankfully easy to wash off as they went overboard with it. But it was the only thing showing that he did indeed have nipples. So again if you wanted to use him without a vest there's another small issue. I used a black and a brown permanent marker to bring them back. They are there as a part of the figure mold, but they're invisible without a little color. With all that said I really like the figure with the minor mods I've made. His new head is perfect for this body. I changed the boots to some from Renegades Ripcord, gave him this vest, added a chest holster, and a few other tweaks. Now I just have to decide if I'm going to use him as Clutch or Breaker. Your thoughts on which one he fits best as?

The data viper looks so much better with the additional gear from JoyToy on him. That was a great idea!
Cool review too, only have one figure from JoyToy so far but haven’t really messed with it yet. Was wondering how their playability would be, seemed like they posed well but wasn’t sure if they were more fragile at all. So all good things to know when I do end up taking some pics of the one I have. Oh, and I was thinking Clutch for that guy when I first saw the head. Clutch could work too though. They did a really good job on that head. Glad you are enjoying them!

Oddly enough, I've seen other mentions of the knees on that same figure breaking. Perhaps a factory defect. So far I've only had an issue with one of the knees on one of their earlier figures. Thankfully, given the over-abundance of extra joints that I have built up through collecting the line, it was an easy fix.
Anyhow, I'm liking the changes you made. The boots especially give him an entirely new look. |

Whatever name you give him, that's a nice custom.

I just hope this thread can do for JoyToy what so many great Tankers threads are doing for Marauders, BFS, etc. I'd probably be all over the Contract Ops figures if I could get them for a decent price here.
